If the camera and map work was a little less claustrophobic and the controls easier I would have liked the game better, but its still good and your ONLY option on Gamecube for R T S. The troops take thier war like lives so seriously meanwhile you march past a garden knome and can hear little girls laughing in the distance. The army men are cute as always and when you send out your machines to harvet raw materials they go out a nd melt down frissbees and water guns for plastic to build more troops and tanks, cute. I want to say that this might deter young players but they seem to get the hang of things quicker than us grown ups.

like I said if I had not already played a game like this the instructions would have lost me. Swithching back and forth between controls seems difficult because you can only see so much of the game at once. Today, you’ll find the graphics barely acceptable and chances are it might not work right on modern systems. This game the camrera and map are too narrow viewed. Army Men RTS is one of the classics when it comes to RTS, back in 2002 it was the game to play but now, it’s something you fire up because of nostalgia or gaming history reasons. It was an older game, but the controls were abit easier, especially the camera. I have played a similar build a factory and send your armies forth type game on home computer. Gamecubes drawback was its limited library of games. As far as I know this is the only game of its type for gamecube.
